Purpose
 

The FIA was established in 2008 as a national umbrella organization exclusively for independent brokers. The urgent need was identified to have a unified voice in the financial services industry and a body to act collectively, not only in the interest of its members, but the industry as a whole.

Today the FIA is widely accepted as the leading representative body in the process of influencing industry matters on parliamentary, regulatory and marketing levels.

The FIA was a founding member of the Council of International Broker Associations (CIIBA), an organization promoting the important role brokers fulfil in development of the global insurance industry.
